The Al Waref Institute for Humanitarian Studies and the American-Libyan Council (ALC), headquartered in Washington D.C., have entered into partnership and cooperation under the leadership of Al Waref founder Marah Bukai and the American-Libyan Council president Fadel Lamen.

The American-Libyan Council (ALC) is a non-political and non-partisan organization focused on fostering better relations, cooperation, understanding and partnership between the United States and Libya. ALC is dedicated to effectively strengthening US-Libyan relations through the promotion of educational, cultural, commercial and technology relations.

These organizations have agreed to work together in the areas of human rights and cultural exchange through the organization of seminars, regional meetings, and international conferences.
